Windows 8 is Here

Windows 8 has now been released and most new laptops and PCs are selling with it.  If you aren’t familiar with it it can be a bit of a shock. The new interface uses big tiles for representing launchable apps, just like a Windows Mobile phone, and there is no start button or obvious way to display the traditional Windows desktop. The new interface runs its own kinds of apps which you can download from the Microsoft  store, and are completely separate to your traditional programs that still need to be run on the desktop.  By moving the mouse into the corners of the screens to get access to other menus and options for navigating the computer.  However, people have already created “start button” hacks for windows 8 which will display a traditional Start Button so you can easily access your normal Windows menus and features.

You can still buy Windows 7 computers, if you purchase from a computer specialist rather than a large department store.  Many businesses wont upgrade to Windows 8 so there will remain a market for Windows 7 computers for some time.
