Which Anti-Virus Should I Use?

I get asked all the time "Which is the best anti-virus?"  The simple truth is that if you click on a link in an email that takes you to a dodgy site with a new virus, you will usually get infected, no matter what you use.  So education is the best anti-virus, which is why you should take advantage of my Virus Avoidance Training Session. That said, you should still have an anti-virus program on your PC as a last line of defense.   I personally use ESET anti-virus and have for years.  It's light weight and smart.  I am also a reseller for it so can get you a better deal than buying via the website.

I only use the anti-virus versions of protection products, not the full security versions.  The full versions come with (amongst other things) a firewall but i've found no benefit to them and for a lot of users they cause more trouble than they are worth.

Businesses wanting the best level of protection should invest in multiple security layers, namely anti-virus on the PCs, an automatically updated threat management gateway (kind of like your broadband modem on steroids, it scans all data passed between your office and the internet for threats before it hits the computers) and a mail filtering service which checks all your mail for viruses and spam before it hits your mailbox.

Ask me for details on any of the above.
