Microsoft Tablets

One of the current issues with tablets is that they have not yet become a complete replacement for a PC or a laptop.  Whilst there are apps for Android or iPad tablets that can mimic a lot of features of a PC, or open and edit word or excel documents, if you need to run a Windows program you are out of luck.  Whilst there are laptop/tablet hybrids, they are effectively still laptops and you lose that thin, light panel that is the joy of the tablet form.

Very soon this may no longer be an issue though, with  Microsoft releasing the Surface Pro tablet here.   The Surface Pro runs a full version of Windows 8, which means you can load and run all your normal windows software on it, as well as the Apps written specifically for the Surface. This differs from the current Surface RT tablet, which only runs apps written specifically for it.  With early reviews positive, this bridge between Windows and the tablet could be revolutionary.
